Her father was in the Indian Army while her mother was a child psychologist and a beauty queen herself. Her brother followed their father’s lead and joined the Indian Army. <br />Celina completed her graduation from Indira Gandhi National Open University in Commerce. She worked in marketing at a cellphone company in Kolkata. She participated in a local beauty contest on impulse and won it, motivating her to sign up for the Miss India contest. This was a smart move as she won the crown and placed fourth from the top at the Miss Universe contest.
