Rahul Khanna - Biography

Rahul Khanna is a theater and movie actor who started out as a VJ on MTV Asia. Rahul Khanna Rahul Khanna was born on 20th June 1972 in Mumbai, India. His father is the actor and politician Vinod Khanna and his mother is Geetanjali. His parents are divorced. He has a younger brother Akhaye Khanna, who is an actor. Khanna went to New York City where he studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and School of Visual Arts. More of Khanna Rahul Khanna is 5’11” tall. He contributes to www.intent.com, a website helmed by Shekhar Kapur and Deepak Chopra. Khanna is also vocal about his stand on animal rights and has appeared in PETA campaigns to protect elephants. On Television Rahul Khanna entered public domain when he became a VJ on the newly launched MTV Asia in 1994. In 2006, he was seen on Discovery Channel, hosting Discovery Week. He has appeared in several ads like Toyota, Lays, Pepsi and Audi. Theater Rahul Khanna played the role of Tariq in a West end play East is East which was produced by New Group and Manhattan Theater Club. His performance received a positive response. Movies Rahul Khanna made his debut in Deepa Mehta’s 1947 Earth (1999), set during the Partition of India. The movie received world wide acclaim. It also starred Aamir Khan and Nandita Das. In 2001, he appeared in 3 AM and with Kevin Kline in Michael Hoffman’s The Emperor’s Club. He worked with Deepa Mehta again in a lighthearted comedy Bollywood/Hollywood with Lisa Ray. Khanna tried his hand in commercial cinema too like Elaan (2005), Raqeeb (2007) and Dil Kabaddi (2008). In 2009, he has a cameo in Love Aaj Kal and is a part of the Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma starrer Wake Up Sid.
