Rakesh Roshan - Biography

Rakesh Roshan is a well known director, producer and actor and is known for movies whose title begins with the letter K. PERSONAL LIFE Rakesh Roshan  was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on September 6, 1949. His father was the legendary Bollywood music director Roshan and his brother is Rajesh Roshan, a music director.He was married to actress Pinky and has a son Hrithik Roshan,who is a popular Bollywood actor. PROFESSIONAL LIFE Rakesh Roshan started his carrer as an actor in 1971 with Seema and Paraya Dhan. He has done more than 20 movies as an actor,some of the most famous ones are: Khoobsurat, Shriman Shrimati, Kaamchor, Khoon Bhari Maang, Bhagwan Dada and Koi... Mil Gaya. He has his own production company named Filmkraft which was set up in 1980. He has produced many movies. The first one was Aap Ke Deewane (1980) and then Khudgarz (1987), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Kala Bazaar (1989) and many more. Some f his biggest hits are: Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Karan Arjun (1995), King Uncle (1993), Koi... Mil Gaya (2003),Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000) and Krrish (2006). Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai was a superhit. It starred his son Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel. This is one film which has received the highest number of Bollywood awards and therefore it's name has been entered in the Limca Book of Records. And then he came up with movies like Koi... Mil Gaya and Krrish, which also starred his son Hrithik and were big hits at the box office. Presently he is working on his film Kool Hai... Rockin and is the producer and writer of Kites which stars his Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut. For his contribution to the film industry, he was honoured at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and also at Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA).
