Robin Bhatt Biography
Robin Bhatt has tried his hand at acting, producing movies and has some experience as an assistant director. But he stands out most for the brilliant screenplays he has crafted over the years.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Assistant Director</span><br />He was the assistant director in the 80s on the sets of Shankar Dada (1976), Sanam Teri Kasam (1982), Karishmaa (1984), and Zindagani (1986).<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Producer</span><br />He has produced only one movie, Chaahat (1996), which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Actor</span><br />Robin Bhatt has played small parts in movies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993), Dushman (1998), and U Me Aur Hum (2008).<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Writer</span><br />Robin Bhatt has written the screenplay for some of the biggest movies in Bollywood and it was never confined to any specific genres. Comedy, drama, love, and sci-fi – he’s done them all! Many of the movies he has worked on are remakes of Hollywood movies.<br /><br />In 1990, he wrote Aashiqui, one of the greatest love stories ever told in Bollywood. Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991), was a remake of It Happened One Night, starring Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt. Its success was followed by Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993) and Raja Hindustani (1996). <br /><br />Movies like Raju Chacha (2000) and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002) didn’t work out well. He then penned the sci-fi Koi Mil Gaya (2003) and its sequel Kkrish (2006). Both these movies received a tremendous response. Bhatt worked with Vishal Bharadwaj for Omkara which was an adaptation of a play by Shakespeare. This movie received critical acclaim. <br /><br />He has worked on the screenplay of Kites (2010) which stars Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, and Barbara Mori. <br /><br />Bhatt who was nominated for Omkara and Koi Mil Gaya, bagged a Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay early in his career for Baazigar (1994) along with Akash Khurana and Javed Siddiqui.<br /><br />
