Ronnie Screwvala has many achievements to his credit. He produces movies, founded the UTV Groups and initiated the entry of cable television to Indian homes.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Basics on Ronnie Screwvala</span><br />Ronnie Screwvala was born on 8th September 1962 in Mumbai, India. <br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Ronnie Screwvala – Cable, UTV & Movies</span><br />Ronnie Screwvala introduced cable television in Mumbai in 1981. He also experimented with making ad films and later moved into producing television serials and movies.<br /><br />In 1990, Screwvala started UTV Software Communications which dealt largely with production and distribution of movies. In 2004, UTV started a channel for children called Hungama TV and in 2008, they started a news channel called UTVi.<br /><br />Mira Nair’s The Namesake and M.Night Shyamalan’s The Happening are two international movies that he has been a part of. He shared the Filmfare Best Movie Awards for Rang De Basanti (2007) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008).<br /><br />
